Leah Fletcher | Director of Career Development

Leah graduated from the University of Nebraska with a master’s degree in higher education administration and from Northwest Missouri State University with her bachelor’s degree studying psychology. Throughout her time in higher education she has had the opportunity to work with students of all ages, backgrounds, and interests on individual wellness and life after graduation—turning students’ academic achievements into a career they will enjoy and excel at.

She has been with the Park University Career Development Center for close to three years now and just recently transitioned into the role of Director. Leah believes there are so many reasons to be excited about the department and the upcoming year.  Be on the lookout!

Leah is a Missouri native and loves all things Kansas City [the people, the innovation happening, and the opportunity for growth]. While she loves the Midwest, Leah enjoys visiting family in Montana for the little-to-no cell phone reception, hiking, and spending time on the river. With her passion for simplicity, she secretly would like to live in a tiny home or Airstream with minimal clutter but her husband, new little man, and high-energy German Shepherd outnumber her on this one—for now.

Megan Raney | Assistant Director of Career Development

Megan graduated from Southern Nazarene University with a degree in sociology and mass communication. She spent the first half of her twenties working the traditional 9-5 at a major insurance company. While not the most glamorous of work, it taught her valuable customer service skills as well as how to succeed in a corporate environment. Knowing that these skills don’t come naturally to everyone, she wanted to find a platform to help teach others how to develop their own careers, which landed her at Park University.

She started out in Career Development as a Career Counselor and has since moved up to Assistant Director. Currently she is working on her Masters in Communication and Leadership.

Megan lives in Kansas City with her husband and two children. They enjoy following Royals baseball, reading fiction, and watching Netflix. She firmly believes that Parks and Recreation is one of the funniest shows ever created and would love to discuss further Leslie Knope’s work ethic, Ron Swanson’s leadership style, or the merit of Lil’ Sebastian should anyone be interested.
